Happy Halloween from A&S Reclaimed Wood

Kids don’t usually dress up as installers of reclaimed wood planks for Halloween. If we’re being honest, we’d have to say that no one has ever dressed up as someone who installs reclaimed wooden planking or who offers reclaimed barnwood for sale online. You can’t find costumes anywhere for reclaimed wood suppliers.

But that doesn’t mean that the gang here at A&S Reclaimed Wood doesn’t love Halloween as much as all the cowboys, astronauts, princesses, aliens, witches and superheroes who will be out trick-or-treating this year.

It also doesn’t mean that we won’t be enjoying some of the Halloween candy that will be showing up everywhere as we get closer and closer to the big day!

 The Sweetest Holiday

There was a time when Halloween was predominantly a holiday for children, but these days adults celebrate with gusto!  In fact, we now spend more on Halloween than any other holiday except Christmas.

Of course, a big chunk of that spending will be done on candy. “This year, the National Retail Federation is estimating that shoppers will spend $2.6 billion on Halloween candy,” CandyStore.com says.

What kind of candy will we be buying with those billions of dollars?  CandyStore.com says the top 10 most popular kinds of Halloween candy in the country are:

  1. Skittles
  2. Reese’s Cups
  3. M&Ms
  4. Snickers
  5. Starburst
  6. Candy Corn
  7. Hot Tamales
  8. Tootsie Pops
  9. Sour Patch Kids
  10. Hersey’s

Around here there’s a rumor that there was a kid once who dressed up as an artist who was said to have created a beautiful accent wall with reclaimed wood.  And who knows, maybe someday working with reclaimed wood will inspire a Halloween trend.
